DiscountASP.NET announces Everleap, a next-generation cloud hosting solution powered by Windows Azure Pack
April 15, 2014
DiscountASP.NET, a leader in Windows hosting, announces the launch of Everleap, a cloud hosting platform for websites built on top of Microsoft Windows Azure Pack, the same technology used by Microsoft Azure. Everleap is a fault tolerant, elastic, fully-managed cloud hosting platform that bridges the existing gap between traditional web hosting and the big cloud service providers.
“With Everleap we wanted to combine the power of the cloud with the familiarity of traditional web hosting. It’s truly a next-generation hosting platform that is unlike anything else available today,” said Takeshi Eto, VP Marketing and Business Development. “A lot of people are staying away from the big cloud providers due to the unpredictable pricing; the by-the-minute metering of services and the charging of additional fees for many things essential to running a site. So one of our goals with Everleap was to give people access to a true cloud platform but with simple, predictable pricing. Every one of our plans includes essential services like SQL, MySQL, SSL, email, DNS and tech support, at no additional cost.”
Unlike traditional hosting where websites are served from a single physical server, Everleap utilizes independent file servers, load balancers and large clusters of web servers. If a web server goes down or needs maintenance, traffic is rerouted and the site is served from another available web server. The infrastructure eliminates all of the common causes of downtime in traditional web hosting.
“This isn't simply a 'skin' on top of Windows Azure Pack," said Frank Cheung, CTO at DiscountASP.NET, "We have been working with the technology for a considerable amount of time now, and we've created a unique offering with Everleap. We built our own unique Control Panel, which allows us to add new services and technology very quickly. What we've got here is not only a more reliable hosting platform, but an environment that allows us to do things that just aren't possible in traditional shared hosting. For example, every site on Everleap can be served from two or more load-balanced web servers simultaneously, providing a boost in performance when a site sees increased activity. In addition to instantly adding or removing web servers, users can also seamlessly scale up to reserved cloud servers without redeploying their applications.”
Frank Cheung will be participating in a Google Hangout On Air scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. Pacific Time. The Hangout will include discussion on how the Everleap cloud system works, demos, and live Q&A. Details are available at: https://google.com/+EverleapHosting
“The Everleap cloud supports the latest Microsoft web stack so it’s a natural playground for ASP.NET developers, but it also supports PHP, so it provides PHP developers with a cloud hosting platform that is generally unavailable, even with LAMP hosts,” added Takeshi Eto, “and the Everleap cloud is fully managed, so there are none of the maintenance headaches that you inevitably run in to with traditional VPS, dedicated or VM hosting solutions.”
